Are there any special rules for handling food since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic? In Spain, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has issued guidelines for the tourism sector in cooperation with the Ministry of Health against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, which are continuously updated to take account of future developments. In German, for example, the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment provides information for the end consumer.

How many menus are available? Is it possible to combine different menus? I would be happy to present you with different menus. The same menu is served for the whole table. Of course, you can also combine individual elements of the menus according to your wishes.

How does a preliminary meeting work?
In a personal conversation we will discuss your culinary wishes and check together whether your project can be realized in your kitchen and the dinner rooms (Show-Cooking at the table of your guests). Appointment scheduling - How can I reserve a date? Simply ask for your desired date. A non-binding reservation is of course possible. I recommend an early reservation, especially for dates from May to October and in the pre-Christmas season.

What are the costs for Private Show-Cooking by Gastkulinar-highlights®?
The costs depend on the number of persons and the food used. Therefore I cannot give you a flat rate here. I would be happy to create an individual cost framework for your event based on your inquiry and prepare a non-binding offer for you.

How do you calculate the menu (food and beverages) and your work?
I ONLY charge my planned working hours. The costs for the entire menu, i.e. the purchase value of the food and beverages desired by the client, must be paid two days before the start of the event / preparation work in order to purchase food and beverages (see *Preparation work). We would like to book your Private Cooking Service for our domicile in Lower Saxony (Germany). Will you come to us?
I offer my services in Lower Saxony (Germany) and in the province of Malaga in Andalusia (Spain).

How must my kitchen be equipped?
Don't worry, you don't need a professional kitchen! A normal household kitchen with the basic equipment is completely sufficient. Everything else such as flambé equipment (e.g. copper pan, flambé burner), carving board and cutlery, decanter, aroma tongs and cocktail shaker equipment I will of course bring myself. So you can relax and enjoy the evening while I take care of everything else.

How must my dining area (dining room or terrace) be equipped?
You only need:

  • - A normal dining area or a terrace with a dining table for 2 to 6 persons.
  • - Tablecloths and napkins.
  • - Dishes for starters, main courses and desserts.
  • - Cutlery and glasses.

I will of course bring everything else myself.

How do you handle cancellations or changes in the number of guests for a meal?

How many people do you cook for? Do you also cook for smaller groups and for company events?
I cook for small groups of 2 to 4 people. In order to offer you an exclusive show-cooking experience, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 4 people. This allows me to focus on each guest and give them my full attention. The entire menu is prepared, carved, filleted and/or flambéed at the table in front of the guest. A cocktail is also prepared at the table as an aperitif, and the red wine is decanted and served with an aroma carafe. As a passionate wine lover and sommelier, I provide detailed explanations of each wine and also of the food. Your guests can follow and enjoy the spectacle of the food being prepared.

Who takes care of shopping, table decoration and setting the tables?
To offer you a carefree experience, I am happy to take care of:

  • - Shopping for all food and drinks.
  • - Laying and decorating the tables with tablecloths, napkins and cutlery.
  • - Creating and printing place cards and menus.
  • - Preparing all food in your kitchen.
  • - Serving food and drinks to your guests.

How long does the entire preparation and execution take? The entire menu is prepared live at the table in front of your eyes. You can experience the carving, filleting and flambéing of the food up close and enjoy the spectacle of the preparation. At the beginning I will serve you a delicious cocktail as an aperitif, which I will also prepare at the table. In order to offer you this special experience, careful preparation is necessary. The time required for a 4-course menu for 2 to 4 persons is 12 to 15 hours from A to Z (including shopping). The work is spread over two days:

*First day:
I do the shopping personally and need about 3 to 4 hours for this. Between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. I will buy for you:

  • - Regional and seasonal food
  • - Fish, seafood and meat
  • - Vegetables, fruit and eggs

I get my products from:
  • - My trusted suppliers
  • - Regional farmers
  • - Weekly markets
  • - Market halls

I personally select all the food I need for the show-cooking. This allows me to guarantee the quality, freshness and cut of the food. This meticulous approach is important to me in order to offer you a culinary highlight. Preparation
I also do the preparation for the show-cooking personally. This takes me about 4 to 5 hours, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The preparatory work (Mise en Place) is divided into two parts:

Part A:
  • - Laying the table
  • - Table decoration
  • - Creating and printing place cards
  • - I create and print the place cards in my office.

Part B:
  • - Mise en Place for the desired menu


*Second day:
The show-cooking at your guests' table takes place between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (approx. 5 to 6 hours). The host determines the time of the dinner. I usually start around 5:00 p.m. with the remaining Mise en Place in order to be ready to start on time for dinner. Please expect a total duration of approx. 5 to 6 hours, including washing up and cleaning the kitchen. Services such as location scouting, personal menu discussions and the creation and printing of place cards are included in the price. What drinks go well with the food?
I would be happy to advise you on the selection of suitable drinks (aperitif, wine and digestif) for your menu. On request, I can also take care of buying the drinks for you. If you would like to buy the drinks yourself, I would be happy to coordinate the selection with you.

What will my kitchen look like after the meal?
Don't worry, you don't have to worry about anything! It is very important to me to leave your kitchen clean and tidy after the meal. So you can relax and enjoy the evening without having to worry about washing up and cleaning.

We would like to book your Private Show-Cooking for lunchtime, is that possible? You can also book a Private Show-Cooking for lunchtime or brunch. I generally offer this option between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your individual requirements.

Gastkulinar-highlights® Private Chef & Contract As a private chef (freelancer), I am self-employed. This means that I am not an employee of the client and am not bound by instructions in the sense of an employee. To protect both parties, I work with a contract, which you will of course receive in good time before the start of the assignment. The contract includes the type and scope of the work, duration, costs and liability. This way, both you and I are on the safe side.
